New Jersey Pride Chamber of Commerce Adds NJ TRANSIT as Newest Sponsor

NJPCC Brings On Largest Statewide Transit Agency in Nation as Bronze Level Sponsor; Recognizes NJ TRANSIT’s Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion

Wayne, NJ (June 12, 2023) – The New Jersey Pride Chamber of Commerce (NJPCC) is proud to announce that it has secured a Bronze Level sponsorship from NJ TRANSIT. Headquartered in Newark, NJ, this is NJ TRANSIT’s first year as a corporate sponsor of NJPCC. NJ TRANSIT continues to take action to empower its diverse community and create the best travel experience for customers, one trip at a time. Their commitment to Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) includes ongoing initiatives to celebrate their similarities and differences and work towards increasing the visibility, inclusion, and empowerment of historically marginalized and underrepresented groups. As an organization, NJ TRANSIT has taken numerous steps to build an inclusive organization, one of the pillars of its 10-year strategic plan. These measures have included the creation of Company Employee Resource Groups (CERGs), which celebrate the identities and diversity of their workforce. You may also see Pride-branded buses in New Jersey, which NJ TRANSIT created to celebrate Pride throughout the year. Their celebration of unity and community extends to individuals within their company, their business and community partners, and especially to their clients, the riding public.

Gus Penaranda, NJPCC Executive Director, stated: “NJ TRANSIT did not waste any time getting involved and provided the keynote at the NJPCC 2nd Annual EBRG Roundtable in New Brunswick last month at the NJ State Theater. It was exciting to hear about the branded buses for Pride and their involvement with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, especially since FIFA is presenting a DEI seminar for the NJPCC on September 23 rd at WPUNJ”.

NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett said: “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is the hallmark of our 10-year strategic plan to build the strongest organization possible as a reflection of the people of the great state of New Jersey. We are proud to sponsor the NJPCC in their efforts to promote the ideals we value.”
